A good read for me is the one that makes me socially autistic. Unless I can get engrossed in it and absorb the informational or storylust value in abandon, its information that is filed away for later.
In terms of my content consumption behaviour, I am practicing speed-reading lately as the volume of stuff i have to digest or go through is heavy-weight. I also try to multi-task, ie listen to a podcast while scanning a site or an article. Heavy duty task but fun (possibly a preventative therapy for the forthcoming alzheimer's).
Im also getting addicted to random access to content without structure. That is why i like stumbleupon.
And my final confession: i'm addicted to kindle (the app for the iPhone/Touch, don't have the actual reader), the speed of delivery, the easy of grab, the size, the green-ness of it, everything.
